Hey PD 🙂 I understand that our messiah had to be in full obedience to the Father in order to be sinless— a spotless lamb— and thus able to atone for the rest of us. However, how do you answer those who say that because he IS God, he makes the rules, and thus doesn’t need to obey or be subject to them? This seems to be the reasoning that people use to support the idea that Jesus came to set aside at least some of the law of God given through Moses, and to show us a new, supposedly “higher” way to live. They seem to think that if Jesus needed to submit to the laws himself, that somehow lowers his divinity or limits his authority. Some might even say that whatever he does, regardless of the law, it is right because he is God, even if it isn’t an example people could lawfully follow under Moses. How would you answer this?
